Seeking solace after a life in the city, Anders retreats to his deceased parents' quiet farm. He finds a temporary escape by spending his days chopping down trees in the surrounding forest, immersing himself in nature and physical labor. However, his attempts at isolation are disrupted by his overbearing relatives, who insist on interfering with his life and offering unsolicited advice. Ultimately, Anders discovers he's exchanged one restrictive environment for another.
