After being denied entry into the local Union militia, “Kaintuck” Ridge (Carey) turns to a roaming gang of marauders. He fights alongside them throughout the war, and when the conflict ends he is left marked as an outlaw, a fugitive with a bounty on his head. Post‑war authorities place a price on his capture.
