How The Rhythm (2025) ends, what the final scene means, which earlier moments set it up and how to read the ending if the film leaves it open. The full ending explained, with every spoiler.
At the end of The Rhythm Section, Stephanie successfully completes her mission of revenge by taking down the key figures involved in her family's death, including the mastermind U-17, who turns out to be Sarra—her last target. After a intense confrontation in Marseille, Stephanie foils a bombing and confirms Sarra’s true identity, killing him with venom she had previously acquired. Having achieved her revenge, she returns to the Kaif family, who had funded her missions, and is visited by "B." He suggests it’s time for her to abandon her alter ego, Petra Reuter, and move on. Stephanie agrees, walking away from "B," leaving her past behind. The ending hints that her journey may continue, as "B" expresses a desire to see her no more, implying he might contact her again, or that she might choose to stay away from this dangerous world. The film leaves her future open, suggesting she has finally reclaimed her life, though the possibility of further stories remains vague. In the end, Stephanie’s transformation from a grieving target of revenge to someone ready to walk away marks a grim but empowering conclusion to her saga.
