Liberty, the First Dog of the United States, narrates his thoughts as he enjoys the privileges and ceremonial duties of the White House, looking down on other dogs. One day, his young owner Nathaniel mixes him up with a stray named Moocher, who looks identical. Moocher takes Liberty’s place in the White House, bringing a humbler, more spirited energy to the presidential residence.
