A live‑action tokusatsu film starring Daisuke Kuwahara as George Owara, the new Moon Mask Rider who fights crime on a high‑tech motorcycle. Produced by Purumie International and Herald Enterprises, distributed by Nippon Herald Pictures, it opened on March 14 1981. Marketed as Japan’s answer to the American flop The Legend of the Lone Ranger, this modern retelling of the Moonlight Mask legend featured veteran stars Sue Shihomi, Daijiro Harada and Takayuki Godai, yet it fared poorly at the box office.
