Avinash Tiwary stars as Amay Mehta, a workaholic architect in Mumbai who longs to present his latest designs to his boss but keeps hesitating, feeling that something essential is missing from his projects. His colleague, Shreya Chaudhary as Zara Gonsalves, encourages him, insisting he is among the best in their firm.

A letter from his sister arrives with the heartbreaking news that their mother has passed away. Amay travels to his hometown for the funeral, where he finds it hard to connect with his father, Shiv Mehta, played by Boman Irani. Shiv is devastated by the loss of his wife and has plans to move to the USA with his daughter, but a flight delay keeps him in Mumbai for two additional days. Their sister urges both men to put aside their differences for the next 48 hours and try to bridge the gap that time and pride have widened.

Shiv moves into Amay’s cramped house, and the two men clash over everyday realities. Amay’s ambition-first approach clashes with his father’s need for presence and continuity, and their disagreement spirals into a series of petty battles—from who should sleep on the sofa to how to manage a car’s handbrake and heavy luggage. The tension grows as Shiv’s stubbornness clashes with Amay’s focus on work, exposing deep-seated hurt on both sides.

One night, over drinks, the conversation deteriorates into a heated argument when Shiv openly insults Amay’s profession as an architect. Yet even amid the rising voices, Shiv expresses a desire to meet Zara, sparking a dinner plan that tests the boundaries between family duty and personal pride. Amay insists on footing the bill, while Shiv refuses, and he storms out, leaving behind a bag containing his passport and ticket.

In a desperate rush to salvage the day, Amay nearly crashes his car when Shiv grabs the handbrake, and a long-simmering outburst finally reveals the root of their conflict: Shiv believes life remains incomplete without family. He once walked away from his own kin seeking a better life, only to find himself with nothing, and that history has quietly shaped his estrangement from his son.

After their quarrel, Shiv wanders the streets and, distracted, follows a woman he mistakes for his late wife, leading to a road accident. News of the incident reaches Amay, who hurries to the hospital and is met there by Zara, who bluntly reminds him of his responsibilities as a son. The moment is a turning point, forcing Amay to confront the weight of familial duty alongside his career ambitions.

Back at work, Amay presents his project to his team with renewed conviction. When criticized for leaning away from Western aesthetics, he defends a design rooted in cultural identity, arguing that abandoning one’s own heritage would be a mistake. The project is eventually approved, marking a milestone in his career and signaling a shift in how he views success.

Determined to honor his father, Amay travels to his hometown to express gratitude, realizing that his father’s sharp words were never about anger but about imparting hard-earned life lessons. As Amay returns to the airport, the father and son share a final, poignant farewell. Back home, Amay discovers his living space has been cleaned and renovated, a small but meaningful sign of renewal.
