The Last House on the Left

Mari Collingwood prepares to celebrate her 17th birthday with a fun trip to a rock concert in New York City, accompanied by her close friend Phyllis. Despite her parents' reservations about the band Bloodlust, they ultimately support Mari's decision, gifting her a special peace symbol necklace before she leaves.

Mari and Phyllis embark on their road trip, singing along to upbeat music in the car. An unexpected radio announcement interrupts their fun, revealing the escape of two dangerous criminals, Krug Stillo and Fred 'Weasel' Podowski, which begins to foreshadow the impending horror.

Upon arriving in the city, Mari and Phyllis seek out someone to buy marijuana when they cross paths with Junior. He misleadingly leads them to Sadie’s apartment, pulling the girls into a nightmarish trap where they face their worst fears.

Inside the apartment, Mari and Phyllis find themselves in an uncontrollable situation where Phyllis heroically tries to fight back but is brutally attacked. Mari can only watch in horror as the violent scene unfolds before her eyes.

As the criminals drive the girls further into the countryside, their vehicle breaks down, leading them deep into the woods. Here, they face unimaginable horrors as the gang's brutality grows relentless and unforgiving.

Trapped in the woods, Phyllis is forced to humiliate herself while the situation deteriorates rapidly. The girls are forcibly coerced to strip, and as Krug loses interest, he steps away, leaving them vulnerable to continuing abuse.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Marshall Anker begins to realize their error in overlooking the broken-down vehicle outside the Collingwood home. As they try to return to the scene, they face obstacles, including running out of fuel and trying to hitch a ride back.

Phyllis attempts a daring escape, devising a plan to create a distraction so Mari can flee. As she bravely runs into the woods, she encounters Krug once more, resulting in a tragic and violent end to her courageous attempt.
