Deep within a converted salt mine, a luxurious bunker serves as a self-contained world for a Mother, Father, Son, and a few others. The group maintains a regimented schedule of drills, fitness, and duties, and decorates to imitate changing seasons. Outside the mine, Earth's surface is described as uninhabitable following a catastrophic event. The expansive halls offer claustrophobic comfort and a stark divide between the family’s sanctuary and the ruined world above.
