Elisabeth, an inquisitive 11‑year‑old, goes to the garden each morning to see Marcel, the silent gardener who cannot speak. Their unusual friendship deepens over three years, becoming the sole connection Elisabeth feels she truly has, as Marcel remains the only person with whom she can communicate on a profound level.
