The documentary examines the public outcry surrounding the pending release of Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, the two ten‑year‑old boys who murdered two‑year‑old James Bulger in 1993. It revisits the tragedy, shows protests against their transfer from secure custody, probes the boys’ backgrounds and the crime’s nationwide impact, and questions whether eight years of detention truly rehabilitated them, as reporter Deborah Davies investigates conditions in secure units and interviews experts.
