What Happens at the End of The A-Frame?

Donna’s arm is “cured” after Sam’s quantum dislocator shuttles the tissue into another universe and returns it cancer‑free. Buoyed by that result, Sam convinces the other patients to try a full‑body jump. Rishi, a comedian dying of leukemia, volunteers, but when the machine powers up the body that emerges is a twisted, screeching creature rather than the man. Undeterred, Sam decides to test the device on himself, insisting that he only wants to prove the quantum “absence” he theorises about.
When it is Linda’s turn, Donna—still wary after Rishi’s horror—intervenes and pushes Sam into the chamber instead. The machine fires, and Sam is ripped into the quantum tunnel; when the process completes, the creature that steps out is clearly not Sam but a suffering, inhuman thing, implying that the experiment has killed or transformed him.

The film closes on Linda’s voice‑over. She tells the support group that some fates cannot be outrun, and that the only dignified response to terminal illness is acceptance, not the reckless pursuit of a shortcut.
