Oliver can inherit a sizable fortune from his wealthy Uncle Bernal, but only if he is happily married. When his wife, Mrs. Hardy, leaves just before Uncle Bernal’s arrival, Oliver’s friend Stanley is forced to step in—donning drag to pose as Oliver’s devoted spouse and keep the inheritance within reach.
