That Darn Cat

Meet Darn Cat (DC), a playful Siamese tomcat who has established himself as the ruler of the Randall household. He lives there with sisters Ingrid and Patricia, who are mostly unaware of his nightly adventures.

By night, DC goes on whimsical adventures around town, delighting in teasing local dogs and snatching snacks from various sources. His playful antics often lead to comical situations as he leaves his mark on unsuspecting vehicles.

One fateful evening, DC's curiosity leads him to follow the notorious bank robber, Iggy, into an apartment. Inside, he discovers Iggy and his accomplice, Dan, holding hostage a bank employee named Margaret Miller.

In a moment of desperation, Margaret cleverly switches DC's collar with her watch while inscribing letters to spell 'HELP' on the floor. This act of bravery is her attempt to communicate her dire situation to anyone who might find the cat.

Upon returning home, DC's mischievous behavior continues, but it is Patti who stumbles upon the watch. This sparks her suspicion that the watch belongs to the hostage and she decides to investigate further to help.

Determined to take action, Patti reaches out to Agent Zeke Kelso at the FBI. She successfully convinces Supervisor Newton to assign Kelso to the case, believing that DC will lead them to the robbers' hideout.

Agent Kelso sets up surveillance in the Randall home, closely monitoring DC's movements. However, the clever cat evades capture at every turn, turning the operation into a series of humorous blunders for the agents.

As the operation escalates, DC leads Agent Kelso on a chaotic chase through backyards and into a drive-in theater. The wild pursuit culminates in a hilarious encounter with Gregory Benson, who chases both DC and Kelso away.

Frustration mounts for Supervisor Newton as he decides to abandon the case, deeming the watch an unreliable lead. However, Patti, not ready to give up, disguises herself to continue investigating with the help of the FBI.

Patti cleverly disguises herself as a colorful niece of her jeweler friend, Mr. Hoffsteddar. This tactic allows her to embed herself in the FBI investigation to convince them of the watch's importance.

Newton and Kelso, convinced by Patti's insistence, embark on a final surveillance mission from the Randall's home. They diligently track DC through the neighborhoods, eventually homing in on the robbers' hideout.

In a thrilling climax, Agent Kelso and Patti arrive just in time at the robbers' hideout. After a brief but intense scuffle, they manage to rescue Margaret and apprehend the kidnappers.

After the exhilarating adventure, Patti reconciles with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Canoe. The tensions that arose during the investigation are resolved, bringing a sweet end to their relationship struggles.

Meanwhile, Agent Kelso finds new love with Ingrid, further entwining the lives of those involved in the case. As for DC, he embarks on a new chapter, having encountered a lovely gray cat during his nightly escapades.
