A wealthy West Berlin couple adopts a 16‑year‑old boy from an orphanage, hoping to give him a stable home. As they try to teach him to fit into their cultured world, his rebellious nature clashes with their rigid, overly tolerant expectations, escalating tension and alienation. The film explores how cultural gaps and suppressed emotions ignite conflict within a family striving to bridge past and present.
