Tarana

A plane crash leaves Dr. Motilal stranded in a remote village. He is sheltered by Surdas, a blind old man, and Tarana, Surdas's lively daughter. Motilal quickly becomes part of their humble world.

Motilal uses his medical knowledge to help Surdas undergo an operation that restores his sight. The act deepens Motilal's bond with the old man. Tarana watches the proceedings with hopeful admiration.

Totaram, a rich villager, covets Tarana and begins spreading rumours that she defiled herself by being seen with Motilal. His lies sow distrust and threaten Tarana's reputation. The village increasingly questions Tarana's character.

During a sightseeing outing, Motilal falls ill and a fierce thunderstorm forces them to seek shelter in a village barn. They wait for the weather to clear while Motilal's health worries Tarana. The storm becomes a rite of passage that tests their bond.

Totaram leads the villagers to the barn, accusing Tarana of impropriety. Motilal is beaten and Tarana's reputation is publicly questioned as fear and anger spread. The couple is driven apart as night falls.

Totaram escalates his plot by claiming Tarana is pregnant, and he bribes nurse Kaneshi to testify. He also tries to coerce Surdas into marrying Tarana so he can claim the 'blame.' Tarana remains unaware of the depth of the deception.

In a fit of rage, Surdas burns Tarana's house with Tarana inside. A guilty Totaram finally confesses his scheming. Surdas dies while attempting to rescue Tarana, realizing too late his mistake.

Believing Tarana is dead, Motilal returns to the city and begins rebuilding his life. He becomes a highly successful doctor with the support of Sheela, yet Tarana's memory continues to haunt him. His professional life contrasts with the personal loss he endured.

On the day of his wedding to Sheela, Motilal flees the ceremony in despair. He travels back toward the old barn in search of Tarana, hoping she might still be alive.

Tarana survives and greets Motilal's arrival with cautious joy. She initially believes he is already married, but her relief turns to elation when she learns the truth. The two finally share a sense of relief and renewed love.

Motilal and Tarana are finally reunited, proving that love endures against all odds. The village's gossip fades as their bond becomes the focus of their future. They begin a hopeful life together.
