Several years have passed since the events of the initial film. The officers from the Spurbury Police Department are now without jobs after a tragic ride-along that resulted in the death of their colleague, Fred Savage.

Farva has transitioned from being a patrolman to a construction supervisor, overseeing Mac and Rabbit. Meanwhile, Thorny has taken a job in logging, while Foster is living with his girlfriend, who used to be the police chief.

Mac receives an unexpected call from their former commander, Captain O'Hagen. He invites the team for a fishing trip in Canada, reigniting the hope of resuming their former roles.

Upon their arrival in Canada, the team meets Governor Jessman, who reveals the real purpose of their gathering. She informs them about territory transfers that are up for grabs and offers the group a chance to rejoin the police force.
