When the deodorant brand “Smell No Mo” seeks a campaign for its new sanitary napkin Vorcan, two New York agencies—Cranston & Co. and Hoffman & Partners—compete for the account. After Cranston fires its creative director, an unwilling young copywriter with a literature degree takes the lead. The final pitches are Hoffman’s sentimental Air‑Supply‑backed “Vorcan: your own personal air supply” versus Cranston’s plain “The pad ain’t bad!”
