Embittered widower Ludvik spends his nights ferrying illegal refugees in his van from Croatia, across Slovenia, to Italy, aided by the young, inexperienced Rudi. Over time they become a practiced duo, nightly delivering “spare parts” to the Italian border. Their illicit trade ends in tragedy for everyone involved, underscoring a darker truth: each character, like the refugees they transport, is desperate for a sense of happiness and wholeness that remains out of reach.
