Two kind sisters take in a distressed bear one night. In spring the bear leaves, tearing his fur on the door, and the girls spot a golden gleam where his fur was ripped. Later they repeatedly rescue a dwarf in the forest: first his beard gets caught on a fallen tree, then his fishing line tangles, and finally a bird of prey attacks him, and the sisters save him each time.
