Manager Vicki stumbles onto a web series called Masked Freaks and sees a brutal template for gains. Fearful of losing ratings, she pushes the team toward even more extreme content. The idea of higher stakes becomes both a temptation and a moral peril.

The crew hires Abby, a new actress, and sets up a dangerous first encounter at a derelict psychiatric hospital. Abby is paired with Rohan, the newly introduced groundskeeper, as the unsuspecting target. The stunt is designed to blur fiction and reality.

Emma and JD reach a van and escape, but JD darts back inside to fetch keys, drawing the intruder closer. Emma wounds the attacker during the frantic pursuit, and a grim truth surfaces: the supposed prank was a ruse and Emma was the designated stooge.

The fallout from the nightmare reaches the surface as Trent, the actor playing Rohan, vents his fury at Marcus and walks off the production. The crew spirals into distrust and blame, knowing their crisis won't end with an episode.

The Masked Freaks dismantle the illusion by revealing themselves as real killers rather than performers. They begin slaughtering the remaining Scare Campaign crew, turning the show into a nightmare without a safety net. Marcus warns Emma as the danger becomes unmistakably lethal.

The hackers' manifesto drops as Abby is buried alive, setting a brutal countdown for Emma and Marcus to locate and rescue her. They race through a maze of traps and horror to reach Abby before it's too late. The confrontation turns the rescue into another fight for survival.

The Masked Freaks impose a cruel ultimatum: Emma can leave with either Marcus or Abby. She chooses Abby, parting with Marcus in a kiss as she makes for safety. In a final twist, Abby is revealed to be the real spy, wheeling Marcus toward a furnace while Emma drives away.
