Karthik is a wealthy architect living in Ooty who projects confidence and charm. He pursues Padhu with earnest devotion but must navigate her family’s initial resistance. Over the course of the story, he earns Ramachandrayya’s respect and strives to provide a stable life for Padhu and their child Lucky. He is portrayed as devoted, capable, and committed to family reconciliation.

Padhu is initially hesitant to accept Karthik’s love, torn between personal happiness and family duty. She elopes with Karthik after Bhanu’s encouragement, triggering Ramachandrayya’s estrangement, and later faces tragedy as Padhu dies in a car accident after starting their life in New Zealand.
