Karthik, Nagarjuna Akkineni, is a wealthy architect living in Ooty. He falls in love with Padmavathi, alias Padhu, Gracy Singh. Padhu is hesitant to reciprocate, unsure of what kind of person Karthik is. Padmavathi has a younger cousin named Bhanu, Shriya Saran, who encourages their romance and gives Padhu the courage to open up to him.

When Padhu reveals her love, her father Ramachandrayya, K. Viswanath, becomes furious and resists, insisting she marry the man he has chosen. Motivated by Bhanu’s words, Padhu leaves a letter for her parents and elopes to marry Karthik. Ramachandrayya breaks family ties with them, setting the stage for a thorny path ahead.

Karthik and Padmavathi marry and migrate to New Zealand, where they later welcome a son named Lucky. Padhu longs to return to her parents and seek their blessings, holding on to the hope of a reconciliation that never fully comes. Tragedy strikes when Padhu dies in a car accident, leaving Karthik a widower with their young child.

Ramachandrayya, who commands a sprawling joint family, contemplates how best to integrate Karthik into the fold. Some relatives think inviting Karthik and Lucky to a family wedding could offer a closer look at the boy and help mend fences. When Karthik visits the family home, he encounters a spectrum of reactions—initial doubt, guarded hospitality, and ultimately a gradual warming to the idea of a son-in-law.

Over time, Ramachandrayya softens and expresses repentance for the past, openly accepting Karthik as his son-in-law. This fragile reconciliation reshapes the household dynamics and gives Karthik a secure place within the family through the bond with his son.

Bhanu has fallen in love with Karthik, and she finds herself drawn to him even after learning he is now a widower. She visits Karthik with her childhood friend Pawan, Prabhu Deva, who loves her deeply. Bhanu’s feelings for Karthik rekindle a difficult choice: to pursue her own happiness or respect the boundaries of a family that once kept them apart. Karthik, aware of Bhanu’s true feelings, attempts to protect her by guiding her toward a fiancé arrangement with Pawan, hoping to honor her heart while avoiding a repeat of past mistakes.

As the story unfolds, Karthik wrestles with his devotion to his late wife Padhu and the responsibility he feels toward their son Lucky. Bhanu’s inner conflict becomes more visible as she grows close to Karthik, complicating the love triangle and forcing a series of emotional conversations within the family. Pawan’s sincerity shines through in his willingness to stand by Bhanu and support the arrangement that would keep her from an unhappy union, even as his own feelings remain steadfast.

In a pivotal turn, Karthik confronts the fear of repeating history—marrying a woman whose family might oppose the match. Ramachandrayya steps forward again, urging Karthik to consider Bhanu as a life partner. Pawan also speaks up, recognizing Bhanu’s happiness as paramount. After a restrained, heartfelt exchange among the principal players, the family comes to a decisive moment: a union that honors love, family harmony, and the well-being of Lucky.

The film concludes on a hopeful note with Karthik and Bhanu choosing to marry, sealing a future that reconciles old wounds and forges a new path for their blended family.
