Hyun-ah, a young woman with a beautiful voice and striking looks, rises to the top of a popular TV audition program. Her true motivation isn't fame, but to be seen by her mother, Jang-mi, who she hasn't seen in over a decade. Jang-mi once dreamed of becoming a singer herself, but circumstances forced her to abandon that ambition. They had a happy life together, even in difficult times, until a tragic event led to their separation.
