After being appointed mayor of a small southern village, liberal Gerben Kooistra finds himself facing a formidable adversary: a local crime boss known as ‘Grandpa’ Toontje. What begins as a political mission to clean up the town quickly becomes a perilous obsession as he discovers the extent of crime hidden beneath the village’s tranquil appearance. He soon realizes his task is more challenging than he initially thought.
