Bhaskar, Sree Vishnu breaks into a house one night and steals valuables, a kickstart to a life built on small-time robberies and calculated lies. He works at a stationery store where he subtly manipulates customers for money, with the store’s owner remaining clueless about his double-dealings. To Sanjana, his girlfriend, he presents a polished façade, claiming he’s a software engineer even as he dresses the part when they meet. The pair daydream about a future in Bangalore, imagining a modest house of their own where they can finally breathe easy.

Sub Inspector William Reddy, Ravi Babu, Sanjana’s maternal uncle, carries the burden of cleaning up crime in his jurisdiction and is under pressure to show results for a promotion. He is entangled in his own secret: an affair with Buela, the wife of his close friend Madhav, a relationship that seeps into his visits to Madhav’s home whenever Madhav is away. Meanwhile, Bhaskar roams between truth and deception, revealing that he is actually married to Vidya, who is studying at a law school, and that the couple have a young son. The marriage is strained and Bhaskar clings to Vidya, partly out of fear of her blackmail about filing a cheating case, and partly because she often demands that he contribute to her education.

Sanjana discovers a startling truth of her own—Bhaskar has a child—while Bhaskar learns that Sanjana is not a software engineer at all, but a salesgirl. He fabricates a story that he is a widower, hoping to keep his two lives intact. Yet as the two worlds collide, the plan to move to Bangalore grows more urgent, and Bhaskar decides on one final heist that will, in his view, secure their future once and for all. He stores his loot at Anjamma’s workshop, and, at Anjamma’s insistence, even clothes himself in a kingly costume that she believes brings immense wealth.

The night of the final job approaches: Bhaskar burgles the house of Madhav’s neighbor. At that same moment, Madhav returns from a camp, and William arrives at Madhav’s house only to stumble upon Beula and Bhaskar in transit. The encounter unfolds as Bhaskar slips through the walls, only to be confronted by the very people whose lives tangle with his—Madhav, Sanjana, and Vidya—each arriving at a moment of destiny. William, later pressed by Vidya, is forced to release Bhaskar to avoid an all-out legal storm, with a grim warning to stop stealing. Vidya, who discovers Bhaskar’s affair and his dual life, feels disgust but also a glimmer of sympathy; she urges him to abandon the thieving life, while Bhaskar’s fascination with Vidya grows even as he loses sight of Sanjana.

What follows is a dangerous game of coercion and deception. William schemes to keep Bhaskar in a web of robberies under the cover of the king’s costume, taking a cut of the loot in exchange for police non-interference. Bhaskar complies, hoping to accumulate enough to buy a house for his family. Yet his insistence on the King-costume as a symbol of confidence reveals a deeper truth: Bhaskar’s criminal identity has become inseparable from his self-image. William’s attempt to expose Bhaskar to Sanjana as a criminal backfires, as Sanjana remains convinced that William is lying in order to wed her, while Vidya, who has grown wary, confronts Bhaskar about his deceit.

A further twist arrives when William tries to reveal Bhaskar’s crime history to Sanjana’s mother, informing her of Sanjana’s supposed corporate job. The exposure shatters Bhaskar’s plans, and the couple’s savings vanish in a fraudulent scheme that Vidya suspects is staged by Bhaskar—leading her to leave him with their child. Sanjana learns that Bhaskar’s wife is alive, a revelation that shatters her own dreams and strains her relationship with Bhaskar. Sanjana’s mother persuades her to return to their hometown, leaving Bhaskar with nothing but a mounting sense of defeat.

In a tense turn, Madhav confronts Bhaskar, who seeks his help to escape the grip of William. Madhav cooperates with the police, catching William red-handed during a climactic moment where William is found in the King’s costume with Beula. The media and police quickly seize on the spectacle, believing William to be the city’s thief, while Bhaskar’s fate seems sealed.

Ganapathi, a famed preacher, steps into the narrative to offer a stark moral: the cheating nature of people and the consequences meted out by a higher power. Bhaskar’s greed and duplicity are laid bare, and Sanjana’s talent for micro-art—with its lure of corporate status—leads her to a painful reckoning when she recognizes the truth about Bhaskar and her own misplaced ambitions. William’s abuse of power is exposed as a tool for personal gain, and Bhaskar’s arrest appears to reconcile the chaos he created with a just punishment.

Ultimately, Bhaskar chooses to turn himself in, seeking redemption for his lies and theft. He serves a prison term, while Vidya becomes a successful lawyer who now owns a house of her own. In the end, a reformed Bhaskar arrives at Vidya’s doorstep, hoping for forgiveness and a chance to rebuild what he destroyed. The story closes on a note of quiet hope, as the two former partners—one shaped by law and one by conscience—contemplate a possible future together, anchored by the hard-won lessons of their past.
