Fernanda, a snobbish Spanish woman, flees to San Francisco to escape the persistent advances of the flamboyant Don Diego, who follows her. During a chaotic taxi ride she is rescued by a passerby who actually runs a large plumbing business. Mistaking him for a modest plumber, she rebuffs him, but he persistently courts her, sparking a romantic rivalry.
