Porco Rosso

Marco Pagot, a former WWI pilot, is transformed into a pig due to a curse. This change leads him to adopt the name 'Porco Rosso' and lose his faith in humanity.

After his transformation, Porco begins working as an airborne bounty hunter from his island hideout. He offers his services and makes a living chasing down criminals on the seas.

Porco takes action when sea pirates kidnap a group of girls from a cruise liner. He cleverly negotiates their return after scheming an attack on the pirates’ aircraft, successfully rescuing the girls.

Following the successful rescue mission, Porco visits the Hotel Adriano. There, he reconnects with Gina, an old friend, and reminisces about times gone by while they share a meal.

While at the hotel, Porco meets Donald Curtis, an American pilot recruited by the local pirates. The introduction stirs tensions, especially as Curtis shows interest in Fio, the granddaughter of Porco’s former mechanic.

Learning about an impending pirate attack, Porco decides it's time to fly to Milan for plane repairs. His journey represents both a physical and personal escape from the troubles gathering around him.

On the way to Milan, Porco is ambushed by Curtis, leading to a surprising dogfight filled with tension and animosity. The skirmish results in significant damage to Porco's aircraft and forces him to hide the wreck.

In Milan, Porco discovers that Piccolo's team has disbanded and is replaced by Fio and the new staff. Despite initial skepticism, Porco comes to appreciate Fio’s skill and enthusiasm as she repairs his plane.

After completing the repairs, Porco and Fio make a thrilling escape from Milan. As they return to his island, they are confronted by the sea pirates who are intent on revenge.

Porco finds himself challenged to a duel by Curtis, which Fio takes a keen interest in. She hopes for a favorable outcome that would secure both her and Porco's future as they navigate their complicated relationships.

As the duel commences, the crowd gathers to witness the fierce competition between Porco and Curtis. Their encounter becomes chaotic as they quickly run out of ammunition and resort to unconventional means to fight.

During the duel, both pilots end up in the water, prompting Gina to chastise Porco. Her unexpected intervention rekindles Porco's fighting spirit, pushing him to overcome Curtis and prove his worth.

With the Italian Air Force approaching, chaos unfolds. Gina hastily ensures Fio's escape on a plane, resulting in a poignant farewell and an unresolved sense of longing between Porco and Fio.

Following the duel, Fio narrates how Porco evades capture while Curtis returns to America to pursue a movie career. Fio's future unfolds with her taking charge of the Piccolo Company, continuing the legacy of aircraft design.

Fio leaves the fate of Porco’s relationship with Gina an unresolved mystery. Her friendship with Gina endures, along with the ongoing visits from pirates, hinting at the lingering bond between them.
