Ponniyin Selvan: Part II

The film opens with a flashback showing young Nandini and Aditha Karikalan crossing paths for the first time. Their immediate connection marks the beginning of a deep, unforeseen love that blossoms between them amidst the backdrop of royal expectations.

Kundavai, keen to forge a friendship with Nandini, attempts to welcome her into the royal circle. However, a spontaneous moment of play shared between Nandini and Aditha causes Nandini to flee, setting off a chain of events that will alter their fates.

Upon discovering that Nandini is an orphan, Kundavai forces her to leave the palace for good. Heartbroken, Nandini chooses to ignore Aditha’s attempts to reconcile, deepening the sorrow woven into their love story.

In a devastating turn, Kundavai and Sembiyan Mahadevi conspire to banish Nandini from their lives, severing the bond between her and Aditha. Under the protection of Veerapandiyan, Nandini finds refuge but is heartbroken over leaving her love behind.

The timeline shifts to 968 AD, focusing on the Chola empire mourning the presumed death of Arulmozhi Varman. During this turmoil, political and military threats from rival kingdoms begin to emerge, adding to the empire’s instability.

Nandini finds herself married to Parvateshvar, seemingly loyal to him while secretly supporting the Pandyan rebels. Her covert actions highlight her duplicity amidst the chaos of political strife.

Nandini persuades Sundara Cholan to decree the capture of Arulmozhi in Lanka, leading to disastrous consequences. The ensuing storm causes a shipwreck that dramatically alters the lives of all involved.

Upon learning of Arulmozhi's demise during the storm, Aditha's fury targets Nandini. Fueled by grief and betrayal, he travels to Tanjore in search of answers, setting the stage for a fierce confrontation.
