The work unfolds as an intimate 16 mm “letter” spoken by Anna, a documentary filmmaker, to an unnamed lover. It follows her from the first “exquisite ache” of romantic longing through a solitary, drunken dance of professional triumph, questioning whether the drive for artistic excellence can coexist with the desire for deep intimacy and asking if obsessions must be mutually exclusive.
