In California, towards the end of the Gold Rush, a group of horsemen rides down from the mountains with urgency. Their arrival signals impending chaos, disrupting the calm atmosphere of a nearby mining camp.

As the horsemen cross through the creek and nearby woods, panic ensues among the prospectors as the dogs begin to bark violently. The once peaceful mining camp erupts into chaos as gunfire breaks out.

A young girl named Megan frantically searches for her beloved dog, Lindsay, amidst the chaos. Her mother, Sarah, calls out for her, highlighting the growing tension and fear in the camp.
