Caterino works at the Ilva factory in Taranto and is unexpectedly tasked by company executives to spy on his colleagues, identifying those they plan to dismiss. He begins tracking his coworkers, searching for reasons to report them. Seeking to understand the process, Caterino requests assignment to the Palazzina LAF, a facility where employees are temporarily sidelined with no assigned duties. There, he realizes the seemingly idyllic setting is, in fact, a calculated strategy to psychologically manipulate and isolate troublesome workers.
