As Lui (Jacky Cheung, a charismatic street racing aficionado entangled in the world of triads, tries to balance his hectic life operating an auto shop and smuggling cocaine for his ruthless boss, Brother Bing (Lung Fong), the strains of his double life begin to surface. His girlfriend, Katy (Ellen Chan), finds herself the target of his frustrations, enduring tirades as Lui’s internal conflict grows. The plot thickens when a police officer known as Bad Breath (Billy Ching) reveals that a competitor named Chang-pau has placed a staggering HK$40,000 bet against Lui, as he prepares for a crucial race against Joe (Max Mok), a rival auto shop owner. Desperate, Lui borrows HK$20,000 from Bad Breath, setting the stage for an explosive confrontation.

On the fateful night of the race, tension hangs palpably in the air as the two drivers exchange heated words before taking off. Lui initially leads the race, but Joe’s determination allows him to overtake just before the finish line. Enraged by the prospect of losing, Lui intentionally crashes into Joe’s car, sparking a chaotic brawl that requires police intervention. To everyone’s shock, Ann ([Rachel Lee]), Lui’s younger sister, is caught in the melee and faces arrest alongside Joe.

Later, as he navigates the complexities of family and crime, Lui’s estranged father ([Wu Ma])—a jaded officer with a checkered past—confronts him, igniting a heated debate over personal accountability. After his release, Lui learns from his right-hand man Bull ([Karel Wong]) that Bad Breath retaliated by destroying their auto shop and putting Ann in danger. Fueled by rage, Lui exacts his revenge by blowing up Bad Breath’s vehicle, leading to an all-out brawl.

The next day, Brother Bing advises Lui to mend fences with Bad Breath, providing financial cover-up for the damage caused. Torn between loyalty and guilt, Lui reluctantly agrees to hand over Joe, setting in motion a devastating chain of events. In a brutal showdown, Bull’s crew ambushes Joe, but Ann and Katy rally to save him from impending doom, igniting romantic tensions as Joe treats Joe’s injuries.

As the storm brews around them, Katy warns Ann about her deepening relationship with Joe. Meanwhile, Lui’s violent outburst towards Katy merely magnifies the toxic dynamics in their relationship. Tragedy strikes when a drug deal gone awry leads to a fatal car crash that claims his father’s life—his last words haunt Lui as he mourns at the funeral, facing Brother Bing’s relentless grip on his life of crime. When Ann reveals Katy’s intention to leave for Canada, Lui realizes he must reclaim her affection, leading to reckless encounters straight out of a racing stunt film, and a cascade of troublesome consequences that effectively ensnare him in a web of deceit and betrayal.

Ultimately, the embers of rivalry ignite as Lui challenges Joe to a final, nail-biting race, gathering their loyal followers for a showdown. Inexplicably, chaos ensues when Bull attacks Joe’s vehicle, leaving Lui’s car teetering on the brink of disaster.
