Set before the events of the original film, this musical explores the lives of characters as they navigate the period leading up to summer break. The younger protagonists are portrayed as more immature, and their actions frequently lead to uncomfortable situations and unintended consequences for those around them. Throughout their experiences, some characters learn valuable lessons about apologizing and forgiveness, while others fail to grow.
