Absurdisme ten top. Neveneffecten, a cabaret troupe—Jonas Geirnaert, Lieven Scheire, Koen De Poorter and Jelle De Beule—are double cousins, which explains their name. In November 2003 they drove a borrowed Nissan Micra 372 km north to the Groninger Student Cabaret Festival, won the top prize and a jury report, and returned two days later in the same car. Their show grew from 30 to 90 minutes; De Morgen called the Zinloos Geweldig premiere the best comedy of 2004. They later toured Flanders and the Netherlands, sometimes without the Micra when Jonas’s mother needed it.
