The film follows Tom, a young man living with AIDS in London, and his lover Ira. Tom’s heightened anxiety prompts a sudden trip to Glasgow to see his family after ten years. His brother Ian rejects him, while his mother offers compassion. As Tom’s health rapidly declines and dementia sets in, Ira is forced to bring him back to London, where Tom realizes his true family is the one he has built with Ira.
