A middle‑aged woman trying to quit smoking learns she can speak with her missing son via a Halloween safety TV broadcast. After a nervous breakdown, her husband, a used‑car salesman, time‑travels to sell his first car. Years later the same car is smashed by a canned‑food executive during a live yam endorsement, prompting a funeral where a clergyman’s faith falters and a group searches for a couple, later meeting a young man whose murder scheme enlists four former‑smoking rock‑band members.
