Lyon, 1960s. Twelve-year-old Emile idolizes his father, a man who claims to be a judo champion, parachutist, soccer player, and even an advisor to General de Gaulle, dedicated to saving French Algeria. Emile eagerly participates in his father's dangerous missions, including tailing, spying, and delivering confidential messages. He takes his role with utmost seriousness, even enlisting a classmate, Luca, to join their secret operations. As Emile becomes increasingly involved, he begins to question whether his father’s heroic tales are true and whether these actions are safe for children.
