The film portrays a respected Orthodox Rabbi torn between paternal love and rigid devotion to ritual. His obsessive observance creates an emotional distance from his mischievous son, and a tragic mistake provokes his previously obedient wife to rebel against both husband and God. It serves as a stark, modern retelling of Abraham’s story.
