Moving Day

Mickey and Donald are six months overdue on their rent. Sheriff Pete arrives with a Notice to Dispossess, authorizing him to evict them and sell their belongings as collateral. He angrily strikes a match on Donald's beak to light his cigar before turning to the task of enforcement.

After serving the notice, Pete leaves to post signs advertising cheap furniture around town, signaling that the family’s possessions will soon be up for grabs. The move heightens the urgency for Mickey and Donald to act before the sheriff makes good on his threat.

With the eviction looming, they decide to relocate before Pete can seize their belongings. They agree to hire help and stack their lives into a single caravan of belongings, hoping to outrun the sheriff’s deadline.

Goofy arrives on the scene delivering ice and offers his help with the move, bringing along his truck. Mickey and Donald accept his assistance, eager to get their possessions relocated quickly.

Goofy tries to load an upright piano onto the truck, but the heavy instrument keeps rolling out of the truck whenever he leaves it unattended. The trio discovers the piano seems to have a mind of its own, complicating the packing effort.

Donald rushes to grab a gas heater attached to a wall and a leak starts. In a panic, he stuffs a toilet plunger into the leak, and the pressure shoots the plunger into his own tail, knocking him into a fish tank. The scene blends danger with slapstick chaos as packing goes wrong.

After freeing himself, Donald's body fills with gas and launches around the room like a balloon. The reckless improvisation compounds the danger of their attempted move and heightens the comic chaos.

Hearing the commotion, Pete storms back into the house to chastise the trio, unaware of the gas leak and exploding hazards around him. He focuses on reprimanding the misfit movers instead of assessing the danger.

With the house wrecked, the trio drives away in Goofy's truck in search of a new home. Pete, left amid the rubble, yells after them from the now-exposed path of destruction, trying to salvage some dignity as they vanish.
