The climax unfolds in the isolated dining hall, where Chef Julian Slowik reveals that the entire evening has been a meticulously staged reckoning for his hand‑picked guests. After a series of increasingly personal and brutal courses, he orders the final dish: a life‑size s’mores. The remaining diners are forced to wear marshmallows over their bodies and chocolate “caps” on their heads, then the whole restaurant is set alight, turning the guests—and the kitchen staff who obey him—into literal burning treats.

Tyler, the eager boyfriend who idolized Slowik, is given a chance to present a dish of his own. When the chef dismisses and humiliates it, Tyler cannot bear the contempt of the man he worships and hangs himself on the spot, joining the other victims in the flames.

Throughout the carnage, Margot (who has been using the name Erin) remains the only guest the chef does not intend to sacrifice. She repeatedly challenges the pretentiousness of the menu, demanding a simple, classic hamburger instead of the elaborate courses. When Slowik finally serves the burger—a nod to his early, humble cooking—she eats it, asks for it to be boxed, and is allowed to leave.

Escaping to the beach, Margot commandeers a small motorboat, rows away from the island, and watches the restaurant explode behind her. The film ends with her biting into the packed hamburger and wiping her mouth with the discarded menu, her fate after the boat drifts into the open sea left ambiguous, but clearly surviving the chef’s deadly performance.
