Ritsuko, a striking young germophobe, moves with her parents into a picture‑perfect suburb where a research team continuously monitors her, hoping to eliminate her crippling phobias. As she interacts with the seemingly fairy‑tale neighbors, she must confront whether their support will free her from her irrational fear of the outside world or push her deeper into her own subconscious.
