Ten years after a large gold mine opened, the anticipated economic benefits for the town of Malartic have failed to materialize. Filmmaker Nicolas Paquet examines the stark contrast between the town's struggles and the mining company's prosperity, highlighting a complex decision-making process where local voices are often unheard. This documentary blends anthropological observation with an investigation into powerful institutions, raising questions about responsible land management and equitable resource distribution.
