Prabha, a feisty documentary filmmaker, lives with two filmmaking friends. When her son leaves for a job overseas, she moves in with Gomatha Silkurayappan (Goms). The change places Prabha in a household steeped in memories and untold stories.

Goms is a retired teacher who tutors local kids from her home, showing a patient, nurturing side. Her daily routine centers on guiding young minds and keeping old friendships alive.

Prabha learns that Goms deeply misses her school friends Subbu and Rani, whom she has not seen for nearly 40 years. The revelation highlights a shared longing for connection that transcends time.

In flashbacks, the trio meets at a Catholic hostel during high school, where their bond begins to form. The memories establish the roots of their enduring friendship.

Their carefree days collide with reality when Subbu and Rani are expelled after an attempt to sneak out to a movie. The headmistress expels them because they are not native to Tamil Nadu, while Goms remains.

Prabha resolves to reunite Goms with her friends after hearing their story. She anchors her plan in empathy and the desire to reclaim their youth.

Using Facebook, Prabha finds Rani, learning she is living in Agra with her blended family. The online discovery becomes a turning point in their reconnection.

Prabha abandons her plans to film in Chhattisgarh and instead takes Goms to Agra to reunite with Rani. The trip reframes the project from documentary work to a personal mission.

Rani's life in Agra is complicated by a misogynistic husband, Gothandaraman, and a politically obsessed son, Karthi. Her situation underscores the resilience she must summon to claim her freedom.

Subbu lives in Hyderabad with her drunkard husband Mangalamoorthy and his bedridden mother, denying her the chance to become a beautician. Her dream remains sidelined by family obligations.

With Goms, Rani, and Subbu now reunited, Prabha leads them on a three-day 'Ladies Only' tour across North India. The journey offers an escape from their shackled lives and a chance to redefine themselves.

On the road, they reminisce about their younger days and reassert their voices. The trip becomes a catalyst for embracing newfound freedom and self-assertion.

At the journey’s end, they attend a special anniversary screening of Aval Appadithan, the film they watched together on its first day. The screening links their past to their present empowerment.

In the epilogue, each friend is empowered to take charge of life on her own terms. They face the future with renewed assertiveness and a sense of satisfaction.
