Luz sits in a prison cell, accused of brutally murdering her own children. Both her husband and mother‑in‑law insist she killed them cold‑blooded. Dr. Rebollar, a psychiatrist, tries to coax a confession, but Luz refuses to recall any details. She imagines the jail as a purgatory, a single step away from a promised Heaven.
