A female press agent is tasked with finding the faces of a soup company’s ad campaign, selecting a “Mr. Manhattan” and a “Miss Brooklyn.” She chooses a charismatic singing soda‑jerk for Mr. Manhattan, but he refuses to cooperate until he is allowed to pick his own Miss Brooklyn, setting up a charming rivalry.
