Katherine Loewe arrives at a Moroccan resort with the intent to finish her latest literary novel. Despite her reputation as a prolific writer, she quickly finds herself struggling to focus due to her emotional turmoil from a recent separation.

Owen Brophy arrives at the resort with his girlfriend, Lily Kemp, who is there to participate in a writer's retreat. Lily, feeling overshadowed by the renowned writers attending, expresses her need for Owen's emotional support.
