Judith Moore faces a troubling confrontation with her husband, Bob, during dinner when she brings up suspicions of his infidelity. At a local nightclub, Judith’s heckling garners an unexpected rebuke from singer Liz Bailey, prompting Judith to reveal the tumultuous state of her marriage and a recent transient encounter.

After a late-night venture into erotic massages, Judith returns home intoxicated and withdrawn, brushing off Pat’s tentative romantic overtures before he can express a desire for more than friendship. As insomnia plagues her, Pat stays by her side, ensuring she feels supported until fatigue finally overtakes her.

During this outing, Pat surprises her by discussing plans for an Italian food import business, which holds potential for success. Although he offers her airline tickets to Italy as a generous gesture, Judith ultimately declines.

Months pass, and Judith finds renewed purpose working in the hospital’s neonatal unit after successfully completing her nursing certification exam. One evening, she is drawn back to Liz’s club, where she delights in a passionate performance from Pat.
