Big-city lawyer Casey McKay travels to a small town at the request of his ex-wife, who asks him to defend her brother. The brother is accused of murdering a district attorney, and McKay soon finds himself entangled in a complex web of conspiracy. As he investigates, he uncovers corruption reaching the town’s most powerful figure, a land developer named Mr. Gates, placing him in considerable danger.
