While working as domestic staff for the American Stevens couple, Juana and Francisca each have a boyfriend—one an egg‑carrier and the other a motorcycle‑riding transporter—both espousing a rigid, macho view of male‑female relations. The women also draw the interest of two American suitors stationed at the nearby Torrejón base, friends of their employers, pulling them into a tangled rivalry between jealous Spaniards and overbearing Yankees.
