Mehmet, a young man from the Turkish village of Tire, moves to Istanbul to find water leaks. Mistaken for a Kurd, he is imprisoned, beaten and, after release, loses his apartment, job and girlfriend Arzu, becoming an outcast. When his Kurdish friend Berzan is killed in a protest, Mehmet carries his body to the border village, facing the refugee crisis.
